HIMALAYAN SWISS HOLIDAY
Dharamshala, is located in the Kangra Valley, in the shadow of the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas, where the hills bow, the clouds cradle—their slopes dotted with rhododendrons and pine. At an altitude of 1,457 metres, Dharamshala the town consists of two sections-the lower town with the main bus stand and the famous Kotwali bazaar, and the upper town, known as McLeod Ganj, which is the destination of most Indian and international visitors. Dharamshala serves as the capital of the Tibetan Government in exile. With rising altitude, the summer temperature between Lower and Upper Dharamshala changes from warm to cool climes. Not very far is Dalhousie, a mesmerising hill station nestled in the Himalayas. Founded in 1850 as a summer retreat, this charismatic town is an unspoiled fusion of colonial architecture, Tibetan culture and alpine splendour. Both these destinations have magnificent weather and awe-inspiring landscapes of mountains, rivers and forests make for a peaceful calm refreshing and relaxing holiday in the hills. Since both hill-stations are perched in mountains, one has to make his way either from Amritsar or Chandigarh. Amritsar, besides the Golden Temple (the jewel of Punjab) and the Jallianwala Baug has its own charm with its glorious history, culture, handicraft, lip licking Punjabi cuisine and gregarious bhangra cultural dance which come alive at the Gobindgarh Fort. Also visit Chandigarh, widely considered the best-planned city in India. It’s known for its modern architecture, efficient urban design, and orderly layout. This combined holiday is considered to be the best in the Himalayas as journeys are short and experiencing cool climate from March to June. .Amritsar – Dalhousie – Dharamshala – Chandigarh
